Sending the invitation link:
There are 2 ways to send the invitation link to a co-applicant. The applicant can send the invitation themselves, or a manager can send it.
Applicant Sending the link to the Co-Applicant:
1. The applicant initiates their online application, as usual.
2. When they get to the "Other Occupants" section, they enter the co-applicant's name, date of birth, and select “Spouse/Roommate – Lease Signer” from the drop-down menu labeled “Type”.
3. Verbiage will appear, explaining to the applicant that they can invite the co-applicant to apply by completing one of the following steps:
- By entering the co-applicant’s email address and clicking on the “Invite Now” button. We then email the invitation to the co-applicant.
- By entering their personal cell phone number. We then text the invitation link to the applicant, who can then forward the text message to the co-applicant or copy/paste the link to provide to the co-applicant.
When the co-applicant has completed that application via the link that was sent to them, it will automatically link the applicants together.
Manager sending the link to the Co-Applicant:
1. Go to Applicants >> Select the applicant
2. From the Applicant Details Menu, select Invite Additional Applicants.
3. Follow the prompts to enter the co-applicant’s first name, last name, and email address, then click on “Invite Now”.
4. A window will pop up telling you that the invitation was sent.
You can also scroll down to the “History” section of the application to see notes indicating that the invitation was sent to the co-applicant, the email address it was sent to, and the manager that initiated the invitation.
5. You should see the co-applicant linked with the original applicant in Tenant Tech. The co-applicant’s status will say “Invited”. Once they begin their application, the status will change to "Still Applying" until they have completed and submitted the application.
What the Invitee/Co-Applicant Sees:
The email that the invitee receives will have the subject line: "Rental Application" and will be sent from [email protected].
When they open the email, they will see the following:
Unlinking Co-Applicants:
1. Go to Applicants and select the linked/grouped applicants.
2. Select the Unlink Applicants option from the top of the Applicant Details Menu.
3. When you receive the prompt asking if you are sure you want to separate the applicants, select Okay.
When you look in the Applicant section of Tenant Tech, you will see that the applicants are no longer linked.
