*Note: If, while following the instructions, you find that you do not see the options that are provided in the instructions, then this may be an indicator that you do not have user privileges that allow you to access or change that information. You will need to reach out to upper management for assistance.

Accessing the screen that allows you to add or delete units may appear differently, depending on whether you have a Single Property Account or a Multi-Property Account. This article provides guidance for Multi-Property Account Users. If you are looking for guidance as a Single Property account, please see the article, Adding/Deleting Units: Single Property Accounts. If you are unsure what type of account you have, please visit our article, What Type of Account do I have? (Multi-Property vs. Single Property).

*Note: If the property has already met its unit limit, then you will be unable to add any additional units. A pop-up message will appear, instructing you to contact Tenant Technologies to increase the unit limit for that property. Once the unit limit has been increased, then you may follow the instructions provided in this article, to add additional units.

Multi-Property Account

To get started, you can either go to  Residents >>Units >> Add New Unit (OR) to your Dashboard >>Add New Unit.

From Dashboard:

This method will only work for adding units to a property. If you are deleting a property, then you will need to use the "From Residents" instructions below.

                A) Make sure you are on your Dashboard, then select the Add New Unit option.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Pay close attention to the property currently selected to work within (see image below). If the property shown on the Dashboard is NOT the property that you need to add units to, then you will use the "From Residents" instructions below.

B)  A window will pop up, allowing you to select the option to "Add a new unit to the existing property [property name seen here]".  You may now move on to Step 1 of Adding a Unit.

From Residents:

                A) Click on Residents >> Properties/Units

B) Select the property that you will be adding the unit(s) to or deleting units from. The property will be highlighted in a darker blue, and you will be able to see all the units currently listed under that property.

  • If you are deleting units, then you may move on to Step 1 of Deleting a Unit.
  • If you are adding units, then click on Add a Property/Unit and continue on to the next step, below.

C) A window will pop up, allowing you to select the option to "add a new unit to the existing property [property name seen here]". You may now move on to Step 1 of Adding a Unit, found below.

Adding a Unit:

    Step 1:

You should now see a window, asking you if you would like to create a new unit or duplicate an existing unit.

  • Creating a new unit from scratch will require you to enter all the unit information manually.
  • Duplicating an existing unit is helpful if the new unit has the same basic information as an existing unit. It will allow you to create the new unit, but will automatically duplicate the unit type, number of beds, baths, sq ft, rent amount, and other unit settings. This can make the process faster, so you have less to type.

    Step 2:

Enter the unit information. If you chose to duplicate an existing unit, then some of the information will have automatically populated. You will still need to provide the unit number, and you will still be able to edit the information that was automatically populated.

Once all the unit information has been entered, click on the "Add" button located in the lower right corner of the window.

NOTE: There are two sections of information, Basic Info & Additional Info. Be sure that you enter the necessary information in both sections.

    Step 3:

You should now see the new unit listed under the appropriate property.

Deleting a Unit:

  Step 1:

Select the vacant unit (no current residents OR incoming residents assigned to the unit) that you would like to delete. The selected unit will be highlighted yellow, and you will see the unit information and menu options appear on the right side of the page.

    Step 2:

From the menu options, select the option "Delete Unit".

    Step 3:

If there is an application that has been assigned to the unit as an incoming resident, then a pop-up window will appear to tell you this, and you will be unable to delete the unit.

If there is not an incoming resident, then you will see a pop-up window that will ask you to confirm that you would like to delete the unit. Once you click on "Yes", the unit will be immediately deleted.

*Note: Even after a unit has been deleted, you are still able to view past residents by going to Residents >> Resident History.
