TenantTech provides you with many time-saving property management features. Many of these features can be customized to meet your specific business needs. To accomplish this, we need to spend some time configuring your TenantTech settings and this document provides instructions for the first step of that process.
*NOTE: Only Multi-property accounts have the “Accounts Settings” option along with the “Property Settings” option for each individual property. Single property accounts will ONLY have the “Property Settings” option.
Account Settings

Account Settings:
*Important Note: Adjustments made/ information entered under the “Account Settings” will update the information for ALL properties within the account. Adjustments made/ information entered under the “Property Settings” will update information for that property only.
To access, please click Account Settings in the top menu, next to your username.
Once you have accessed the Account Settings, you will see Application/Screening and Miscellaneous setting options on the left side of the page.
Below, you will find more information about what settings are managed in each section.
Application/Screening:
Has settings that determine what units an applicant can see when they visit the online application page. At the bottom of the page, there is also an option to show the property marketing names on the generic Account page that lists all properties with vacancies, rather than listing the property addresses.
Note: To set or update the Marketing Name, go to Property Settings >> Basic Information.
Miscellaneous:
This allows you to set the preferred time zone for the properties within the account, as well as adjust the inactivity timeout settings. If you would like to use our default setting, then you will do nothing. If you would like to use a custom timeout setting, then you will select the box and entered the desired time in minutes only (not hours), and click Save.

Property Settings:
There are two ways to access the property settings. The method you use will depend on whether you have a single property or a multi-property account.
Single Property Account: To access, please click Property Settings in the top menu, next to your username.
Multi-property Account: To access, please go to Tools>Manage Units>Property Settings
Once you have accessed your Property Settings, you will have a list of options provided on the right side of the page. Below, you will find more details about each setting option.
Any settings/information entered or adjusted will ONLY apply to this specific property. For multi-property accounts, some settings may have an option to apply it to other properties as well, but it does not apply automatically.
Basic Information: Sets the Property Name, Marketing Name, and address.
Contact Info: Sets the contact information for the property.
Application/Screening:
This section contains a link directly to the property's online application, and it manages several components of the application and screening process, as seen listed below.
- Screening Charges: *The amount(s) entered do not include the fee charged by the payment processor.
- Rental Criteria & Additional Forms: This step is required. You will need to upload your custom rental criteria. If you have additional forms that you would like an applicant to complete with their application, then you can upload those forms here as well. However, only the rental criteria are required.
- Welcome Screen: This allows you the opportunity to use the default Welcome Screen message, or select the option to create and use a custom message.
- Deposits, Fees, and Notes: You can add notes related to fees. For example, “Combined income must be 3 x rent or combined savings of 3 x 6 months’ rent. Loans are not counted as income", adding a link to the property website, etc.
- Units: These settings will determine if an applicant will be required to select the unit they are applying for. In addition, you will be choosing settings that will determine how the units will be viewed by applicants.
- Invite Co-Applicants: If you would like the applicant to be able to invite another applicant to apply with them, then you will need to check this box. For more information about this feature, please review the article, Invite Co-Applicants Feature.
- Custom Colors and Font: This allows you to customize the appearance of the property's Welcome Screen. If you would like to use the defaults, then you can do nothing. If you would like to customize some or all of the settings, then click the box next to "Use custom colors".
Then adjust the options as you see fit, and Save.
- Rental Criteria & Additional Forms: This step is required. You will need to upload your custom rental criteria. If you have additional forms that you would like an applicant to complete with their application, then you can upload those forms here as well. However, only the rental criteria are required.
