TenantTech has implemented changes to the online application to assist properties with compliance with California Senate Bill 267, which requires applicants with a government rent subsidy to be offered the option to forgo a credit check by providing verifiable evidence of their ability to pay their portion of rent.

TenantTech does NOT pass this information to 3rd party screening companies. This function is only available through the Western Reporting (ResidentIQ) integration.

Please refer to your company policies and procedures for communicating the applicant's indication of housing subsidy use, amount, and selection between credit check vs income documents to your screening provider.



Online Application


The Applicant is asked if they will be receiving a government rent subsidy and amount, if known.


The applicant must choose between "Credit Check" or "Additional Income Documents".

If the applicant selects "Additional Income Documents", they will be prompted to upload income documents.

The income document criteria text is controlled at the company level and must be set by TenantTech customer support. If you need to update the displayed text, please have a company admin level user reach out to us to update. 




Managing Applicants


Applicant Status


Applicants who answered YES to rent subsidy in the online application will have a Lifecycle Status of "Voucher".

Housing Voucher Notes


Applicant Details Panel will show "Housing Voucher: Yes" with an alert icon.


You can click on the "Yes" to add a note or view history & notes.

Notes can be added and viewed by any staff with access to the property. Notes are NOT visible to the applicant.

SB 267 Indication


The "SB267" will display what the applicant selected in the online application - "Credit Check" or "Add'l Docs" 

  • "Credit" means the applicant opted to have their credit history used in processing their application.
  • "Add'l Docs" means the applicant decided to upload income documents to be considered in lieu of credit history. Go to Notes/Attachments to view documents uploaded by the applicant

View/ Input Subsidy Amount


On the Applicant Detail Panel, click on Vouchers/Subsidies.

This is where you will see the monthly assistance amount entered by the applicant during the online application. If the applicant did NOT enter the amount, you can do that here.
