Some accounts may benefit from distinguishing buildings at the property level. The instructions below walk you through adding and editing buildings on a Multiple Property Account. Please note that the ability to add or modify buildings depends on your user permission level. If you do not see the options described, contact your company admin for assistance in updating your property or account in TenantTech.
How to Add the First Building to a Property/Account
Step 1- Navigate to the Property
- Single Property Account: Skip to Step 2
- Multiple Property Account:
- Hover over the Residents tab and select Properties/Units.
- Click the property banner you wish to add a building to in program.
Note: The selected property on a multiple property account will display under the residents tab in program.
Step 2- Access Building Options
- Click Unit Actions and select Add Separate Buildings.
Step 3 – Enter Building Details
- Fill in Name Field (required)
- Address information for the building can be entered at this time but is not mandatory.
- Click Add to create the building
Step 4- Review Building Assignment
- After adding the first building, all existing units will automatically be linked to it in program.
- You can continue adding more buildings if needed.
Step 5 – Assign Units to Buildings- Units can be reassigned to buildings in two ways:
Option 1- Individual Unit Assignment/ Adjustment
- Select the unit you need to modify and use the Edit This Unit option on the right side of the main Units page
Option 2 - Edit Units In Bulk
- Go to Unit Actions and select Edit All Units.
- Use the Apply to All function or manually assign each unit to a building.
- Click Save All before leaving the page.
How to Manage Existing Buildings on Your Property/Account
Step 1- Navigate to the Property
- Single Property Account: Skip to Step 2
- Multiple Property Account:
- Hover over the Residents tab and select Properties/Units.
- Click the property banner you wish to add a building to in program.
Note: The selected property on a multiple property account will display under the residents tab in program.
- Click Unit Actions and select Edit Buildings.
Step 3 – Modify Building Information
- In the pop-up window, select the building you want to edit.
- Update the building details and click Save
