*Note: User permissions can differ across companies. If you do not have permission to add or delete units, then you will not be able to complete the steps provided in this article, and we recommend contacting your company admin for assistance.
Accessing the screen that allows you to add or delete units may appear differently, depending on whether you have a Single Property Account or a Multi-Property Account. This article guides Single Property Account Users. If you are looking for guidance as a Multi-Property account, please see the article, Adding/Deleting Units: Multi-Property Accounts. If you are unsure what type of account you have, please visit our article, What Type of Account do I have? (Multi-Property vs. Single Property).
Adding a Unit:
*Note: If the property has already met its unit limit, then cannot add any additional units. A pop-up message will appear with instructions to contact our customer support to increase the unit limit. Once the unit limit has been increased, you may follow the instructions provided in this article, to add additional units.
1. Go to your Dashboard >>Add New Unit (OR) to Residents >>Units >> Add New Unit.
From Dashboard:
a) Make sure you are on your Dashboard, then select the Add New Unit option. You may now move on to step 1 of either Adding a Unit or Deleting a unit below.
From Residents:
a) Click on Residents >> Units.
*If you are deleting a unit, you may move on to Step 1 of Deleting a Unit, found below.
b) Click on the option to Add a Unit, and move on to step 1 of Adding a Unit below.
2. You should now see a window asking if you want to create a new unit or duplicate an existing unit.
- Creating a new unit from scratch will require you to enter all the unit information manually.
- Duplicating an existing unit is helpful if the new unit has the same basic information as an existing unit. It will allow you to create the new unit, but will automatically duplicate the unit type, number of beds, baths, sq ft, rent amount, and other unit settings. This can make the process faster, so you have less to type.
3. Enter the unit information. If you chose to duplicate an existing unit, then some of the information will automatically populate. You will need to provide the unit number, and you still have the ability to edit the information that was automatically populated.
Once all the unit information is entered, click on the "Add" button located in the lower right corner of the window.
NOTE: There are two sections of information, Basic Info & Additional Info. Be sure that you enter the necessary information in both sections.
4. You will now see the new unit listed.
Deleting a Unit:
1. Select the vacant unit that you would like to delete. The selected unit will be highlighted, and you will see the unit information and menu options appear on the right side of the page.
2. Select the option to "Delete Unit".
3. If there is an application that has been assigned to the unit as an incoming resident, then a pop-up window will appear to tell you this, and you will be unable to delete the unit.
If there are no incoming residents, then you will see a pop-up window asking you to confirm that you would like to delete the unit. Once you click on "Yes", the unit will be immediately deleted.
*Note: Even after a unit has been deleted, you are still able to view past residents by going to Residents >> Resident History.
